How is the displacement calculated?
Bore diameter-the diameter of the cylinder is referred to as the bore diameter.
Stroke-The piston reciprocates in the cylinder. When the piston travels from top dead center (TDC) to bottom dead center (BDC), the distance traveled is called piston stroke, or stroke or stroke for short.
Now take the Honda CBR600RR in 2003 as an example. The engine form: a water-cooled four-stroke parallel four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine as an example:
Bore (67.0mm) and stroke (42.5mm)
Calculation method of displacement:
The cross-sectional area of the cylinder X stroke X number of cylinders = total exhaust gas cc
Stroke-42.5mm = 4.25cm
Bore diameter-67.0mm = 6.7cm
Cross-sectional area-3.35 X 3.35 X 3.1416 = 35.25
Cross-sectional area 35.25 X stroke 4.25 X number of cylinders 4 = total displacement 599cc
